It is my privilege to welcome you. The institute was established in the year 1986 and first batch of Institute came into existence in the year 1991 with 02 disciplines mainly, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering for imparting engineering education and promoting all the sectors of technological development in Kumon Region. Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology (BTKIT) formerly known as Kumaon Engineering College is known for academic excellence, research contributions, technological development at the industry interface worldwide. A team of highly qualified faculty, quality students & dedicated staff and good placement record are the major strength of the Institute. Presently, the institute offers Bachelor’s Degree in 07 disciplines of Engineering namely Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bio Technology and three P.G. Courses viz. M.Tech. in VLSI (ECE), Thermal Engineering (ME) and Computer Science & Engineering (CSE). The institute is also offering Master of Computer Applications and Bachelor Of Computer Application .

In the fast changing global economic environment, BTKIT has strived to bring global perspective to all its programmes and activities. The latest technologies are employed for effective delivery system and the curriculum is designed to cater the needs of the industries with emphasis on the lab works. The institute has encouraged increasing overseas exposure for its students. The institute is committed to create an ambience for nurturing innovation, creativity and excellence among the students. We strongly support interdisciplinary research and development for the benefit of Industry and Society. The institute has well developed infrastructure and modernized labs from TEQIP projects funds and state-of-the-art Centralized Computing Facility Centre (CCFC). University Grant Commission has granted academic autonomy status to this institute.
